Air Coffee Roasters: How Hot-Air Roasting Works
An air coffee roaster uses a continuous stream of hot air to roast coffee beans, rather than transferring heat through the surface of a metal drum. Inside an Air Motion roaster, a high-velocity fan circulates electrically heated air through the bed of beans, keeping each bean suspended in the airflow. This hot-air roasting method ensures heat reaches every bean evenly from all directions, resulting in more consistent roast development and cleaner flavor profiles batch after batch.

The main difference between an air roaster and a traditional drum roaster lies in how heat is transferred to the beans.
